About
Breanna Rosales is a Senior Trial Consultant with JuryScope. With a background in the social sciences, Dr. Rosales is an expert in human behavior and jury decision-making. She has nearly a decade of experience consulting on a variety of civil and criminal cases, from conducting large group surveys, including change of venue and community attitude surveys, to assisting in the development of juror questionnaires, to moderating in-person and virtual focus groups and mock trials.
Analyzing the qualitative and quantitative data these pre-trial projects yield, Dr. Rosales expertly synthesizes this research into digestible reports to help inform trial preparation and strategy. Dr. Rosales also uses pre-trial research to develop recommendations for jury selection and has assisted numerous clients during voir dire.
Dr. Rosales received a PhD in Law and Psychology from Arizona State University where she researched juror and jury impression formation and decision-making in civil trials. Her doctoral dissertation research found mock jurors’ first impressions of attorneys’ likability from 30 seconds of their opening statements predict real jury verdicts; her master’s thesis explored how wealth and corporate status negatively bias jurors’ liability verdicts and damage awards. In addition to her consulting work, Dr. Rosales teaches graduate-level courses in forensic psychology at ASU. Before pursuing her PhD, she graduated with honors from Centre College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience. Dr. Rosales is based in Minnesota.
